Danelle Monica Howard, who will be 37 on Wednesday, Jan. 4, was arrested Monday morning.

According to witnesses, Howard and her boyfriend were having a fight over money and property at their apartment on East Key Avenue. Howard punched the man in his face multiple times and hit him repeatedly. The man swung back but only in self-defense, witnesses told police.

Howard then grabbed a roller skate and struck the man over the head with it. One witness said he was surprised it didn't knocked out the boyfriend "due to the hardness of the hit."

Both Howard and the boyfriend denied that the fight became physical, a police report said.

Eustis Police found a roller skate wheel and other broken property strewn about the scene, they said.

Howard's charges were upgraded to felony battery because of prior convictions.
