Author J.K. Rowling is addressing rumors about new Harry Potter movies.

  • J.K. says rumors about 'Cursed Child' trilogy are not true
  • "Cursed Child" is a two-part play set after the events of the last Harry Potter book
  • Fans have four more "Fantastic Beasts" films to look forward to

“There is no truth to the rumor about a ‘Cursed Child’ movie trilogy!” Rowling posted on Twitter Friday.

Her post was in response comments made by theme park writer Jim Hill.

Speaking with the Unofficial Universal Orlando Podcast last week, Hill suggested that a "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" trilogy was in the works and that the original actors would be reprising their roles.

“Cursed Child” is a two-part play set 19 years after the events of "Harry Potter and the Deadly Hallows."

The production opened at the Palace Theatre in London last year. The script for the play was also published.

Even though a new Harry Potter trilogy isn’t in the works, fans still have plenty of potter-related material to enjoy. New stories are posted frequently to the official fan-site, "Pottermore." In addition, fans have four more movies to look forward to from the new “Fantastic Beasts” film saga.
