With the presidential inauguration just days away, Central Florida Donald Trump supporters are packing their bags for Washington so they can witness history.

"This is the most important political event perhaps in the history of the United States, all because this is the single biggest upset in the history of the United States," said Christopher M. Comins, a major political donor and Trump supporter who lives in Belle Isle.

Within one Orlando-area Trump group, almost 100 people from the area will hit the road for D.C.

"It's going to be the best four days of my life," Comins said.

For more than a year, Comins donated time and money to the Trump campaign. He spent this political season attending Trump rallies, hosting donor parties at his home and garnering support for the man he said will be the best president this nation's ever seen.

"He's going to put together a package of individuals who will turn this country around so fast, it'll make your head spin," Comins said.

Despite a less-than-favorable weather forecast for the inauguration, Comins said he's prepared. He planned to travel to D.C. on his private jet Tuesday with several others, including newly elected Belle Isle Mayor Lydia Pisano, real estate guru Carolyn Cook and Orange County's Trump campaign chairman, Randy Ross.

"I've shopped till I dropped," Cook said Tuesday. She has purchased several ball gowns for the six events the group plans on attending in D.C.

"I can't wait," Pisano said.

Their expectations are high not only for this week's inauguration but also Trump's administration.

"I had all the faith in the world in him all along, and I told him that. Now it's time we get to enjoy the fruit of our labor," Comins said.
