The warm weather continues in Central Florida, but for how long? Here's the weather forecast for the workweek ahead:

  • Above-average temperatures this week
  • Rain not expected through the week
  • Cooler air expected to arrive Sunday
  • SEE BELOW: See our 7-day forecast

It was a magnificent Monday across Central Florida, although many might be hoping for some slightly cooler weather.

We will keep the above-average temperatures and offshore showers in the forecast until this weekend and then we will begin increasing moisture ahead of a stronger front coming late Sunday night.

Our weather continues to be dominated by a stout ridge of high pressure over the southeastern U.S., keeping us in an onshore flow and any isolated showers offshore. Moisture in the lower levels, combining with light overnight winds, will lead to patchy areas of dense fog toward dawn. Although we'll have a front draped across the central and northeastern U.S. on Tuesday, the ridge keeps it to our north into the weekend.

It may push close enough Wednesday to bring a slight northerly component to the wind, but no rain is expected. Highs remain either side of 80 degrees into Sunday.

A more significant cold front is heading out way by Sunday night with storms and cooler air spilling in.

A persistent east-northeast windswell/swell mix will begin easing Tuesday and allow for periods of fair surfing conditions. Wave heights will get up to around 2-3 feet and a little higher from time to time.

We'll see some improvement in the rip current risk, but still remain in a moderate threat. The UV index is high, so grab the sunscreen.
