Hundreds of people and law enforcement officers lined the streets of Orlando as a funeral procession took a fallen police officer to church on Friday.

An Orlando Police Department motorcade passed by police headquarters and through downtown Orlando as it escorted Master Sgt. Debra Clayton's hearse from Pax Villa Funeral Home to the First Baptist Church of Orlando.

She was shot and killed at an Orlando Wal-Mart early Monday while confronting Markeith Loyd, wanted for the murder of his ex-girlfriend in December.

“The men and women that have been deeply involved in the manhunt will continue that, and they know that’s what Debra would want,” Orlando Police Chief John Mina said soon after Clayton's procession passed by police headquarters. “They’ll grieve and mourn and honor and remember her in their own way, and part of that is remembering her by doing their best to capture him.”

A public viewing for Clayton will be held at the church on John Young Parkway from 6-9 p.m. tonight. Her memorial will be 2 p.m. Saturday.

The 17-year law-enforcement veteran was shot dead during a confrontation with murder suspect Markeith Loyd on Monday.

A funeral for Orange County Deputy Norman Lewis was rescheduled for 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the same church. Lewis was killed in a crash as he participated in the manhunt for Loyd.
