It's the weekend, and some beautiful weather is in store. Here's the forecast for Central Florida:

  • Dry evening with patchy areas of fog developing
  • Beautiful weekend in store, temps in the 70s
  • Rip current risk remains elevated this weekend
  • SEE BELOW: See our 7-day forecast

A bit of patchy fog will possibly form overnight under a mostly cloudy sky. Most raindrops will be ending, but there is still a slight chance for an isolated sprinkle or two. Temperatures will be falling into the upper 50s — which is about 10 degrees above normal. Saturday will be warm and a bit muggy with highs in the upper 70s.

High pressure centered just to our north is keeping our wind coming in from the ocean, which is infusing the atmosphere with moisture. We will continue to have an isolated shower possible through Saturday, but the chance is less than 20 percent.

Wind will be turning more out of the north Sunday rather than out of the east, so humidity will be falling before the weekend is over. Temperatures are going to remain 10-15 degrees above normal with lows in the upper 50s and highs in the upper 70s under a partly cloudy sky.

Poor to fair conditions are in the forecast for our surf on Saturday. Wave heights will be between 4-5 feet with the rip current threat still high due to our east wind off the Atlantic Ocean. The UV index is at 5.
