Lynx has added free Wi-Fi to all 300 buses in its fleet, the Central Florida Regional Transportation Authority announced Wednesday.

  • Fee available on all Lynx buses
  • Riders will need to select 'LYNX-Bus WIFI'
  • Lynx plans more tech offerings in 2017

This addition is the first of many technology enhancements Lynx plans to roll out this year.

To use the Wi-Fi, riders will need to select “LYNX-Bus WIFI” and accept the terms and conditions. A password will not be required.

Lynx is also working on a mobile fare payment system and a trip planning application.

“Our board of directions envisions transforming LYNX into an agency that is attractive to all Central Floridians,” said Edward L. Johnson, CEO of Lynx. “As we continue to roll out new technologies which will allow passengers to read and send emails, communicate through social media, and read their favorite electronic publication or correspondence while our operators take them safely to their destination, this is the first step in meeting that expectation.”

Wi-Fi is already available to riders at the Lynx Central Station.
