Orlando Police are looking for the owner of a car they think was used as a getaway vehicle after a drive-by shooting earlier this month that left a man dead and six others hurt.

  • Police seek vehicle used as getaway car after drive-by
  • Man killed, 6 others hurt outside Orlando pool hall Sept. 17
  • Police seek owner of Dodge Charger or similar vehicle

The shooting happened early Saturday morning, Sept. 17. Investigators think the occupants of a gray 2013 Hyundai Sonata drove in front to the 3900 block of Columbia Street and opened fire as people were leaving the pool hall there.

Dwayne Antoine Stuart, 37, was pronounced dead at the scene, and six other people were hospitalized.

Just after the 3:35 a.m. shooting, the occupants of the Sonata burned the car, which was found in flames on the 100 block of N. John St.

Investigators said Friday that the occupants of the Sonata, which was reported stolen Sept. 1, got into another vehicle and drove away as the Sonata burned. Investigators think that second vehicle could be a Dodge Charger, and the driver may or may not be aware the car being burned was used in a homicide.

Orlando Police are looking for information on the second vehicle. They are encouraging the owner to come forward. Anyone with information about the occupants of that vehicle from Sept. 1 to Sept. 17 is asked to call Orlando Police at 321-235-5300 or Crimeline at 1-800-423-TIPS.

One of the six people hurt in the drive-by shooting is still hospitalized in stable condition, Orlando Police said.
