Our west to southwest flow continues to keep our atmosphere very moist across central Florida. A cold front that we have been watching dive into the Tennessee valley will continue pushing into the southeast Thursday.
Unfortunately, the cold front will be slowing down and stalling in the very north part of Florida, so a break in the humidity and chance for storms is not anticipated now.
Our chance for showers and storms will remain around 50 percent each day through the weekend with high temperatures making it into the upper 90s.
We are tracking the 13th named storm of the season, Matthew, moving west through the Caribbean. Matthew is expected to become a hurricane by late Thursday into Friday morning.
Wave heights are coming down to around 1 to 2 feet Thursday. The surf forecast remains poor to fair with a small easterly swell in the mix.
Rip current threat is still moderate and water temperatures are running near 80 in Daytona Beach and near 85 in Cocoa Beach.
