  • Tyson recalling 5-pound bags of Panko Chicken Nuggets
  • Small, hard, white plastic pieces found in some
  • Sold at Costco nationwide

The company says small pieces of hard, white plastic were found in some of the packages. Tyson says it's issuing the voluntary recall out of an "abundance of caution."

Some 130,000 pounds of chicken nuggets are affected.

The 5-pound bags were sold at Costco stores nationwide since July. The packages have the following information:

  • UPC: 0-237000-3558-5
  • Item # 23575-928
  • Lots feature “best if used by” dates of July 18, 2017 with case codes 2006SDL03 or 2006SDL33

If you have purchased these, Tysopn and the USDA say you should throw them away, cut the UPC and date code on the packaging and mail it into Tyson for a full refund.

Some 20-pound cases of Spare Time brand nugget-shaped chicken breast pattie fritters were also recalled. They were sold to a single wholesaler in Pennsylvania for "institutional use."
