Let's see what the late afternoon and evening look like for Central Florida's forecast.

Shower chances will be decreasing early tonight under a mostly cloudy sky.  Temperatures are expected to fall into the lower 70s by Tuesday morning, then rise back to near 90 for the high.  Showers and storms will start to form as we heat up Tuesday afternoon.

A weak cold front is trying to sag into the state but won’t make a lot of headway until another cold front forms in the Central Plains by the middle of the week and pushes south.

We are under the influence of an upper level low that will continue to provide the instability needed for afternoon showers and storms to form each day through Thursday.

High temperatures will remain in the upper 80s to near 90, then fall back a couple degrees Friday while dry air invades from the north, dropping our chance of rain too.

We are tracking another strong tropical wave that has a good potential to become our next named storm soon.  Right now it’s Invest 97 and will be called Matthew if it continues to intensify into a tropical storm later this week.

A hurricane hunter plane is planned to investigate Tuesday.

Conditions for surfers Tuesday will be poor to fair with wave heights around two to three feet.  The rip current threat is better, but still moderate.  Water temperatures range from 80 to 85.
