An Osceola County Sheriff's deputy is facing charges of battery and stalking.

  • Deputy Rafael Sanchez arrested Wednesday
  • St. Cloud Police say he battered wife of reserve deputy

St. Cloud Police investigators said Deputy Rafael Sanchez, 45, was in a relationship with the wife of a reserve Osceola deputy.

When she tried to break it off, she told investigators that he "wouldn't take no for an answer," according to a charging affidavit, and that's when things turned violent.

The woman said Sanchez showed up at her house uninvited Tuesday and grabbed and choked her and forcefully kissed her. He then threw her cell phone into a retention pond and drove away in his patrol car.

Sanchez has since been released from jail.
