Here's what you need to know about Central Florida area weather for the weekend:
- Spotty showers and storms
- A bit more active this week
- Tracking the tropics: Lisa and Karl
High heat and humidity to start out the weekend. Temperatures have quickly climbed to around 90 degrees with the humidity making it feel more like the mid to upper 90s. Showers and a few storms are developing along the east coast sea breeze and moving inland. The activity will not be too widespread, but any storm that develops with hold the possibility of heavy rain and frequent lightning. The chance for showers will stick around through sunset.
A shower or two may linger past sunset, but most of the activity will quiet down early. The rest of the night will be partly cloudy and mild, with lows falling into the mid to lower 70s. Watch for some patchy fog early Sunday morning.

Sunday will start out quiet with plenty of sunshine, but watch for developing showers and storms during the afternoon. It will stay hot for the end of the weekend with temperatures back in the low 90s. Rain chances will increase for early next work week, which will help to low temperatures. Starting Monday, highs will only reach the mid to upper 80s.
In the tropics, we’re continuing to track Karl and Lisa. The center of Karl has moved east of Bermuda and will begin to race off to the northeast. This storm could still intensify into a hurricane, but still not threat to the United States. Lisa has strengthened a bit, but is expected to weaken over the next twenty four hours and remain well out in the Atlantic. We’re also watching an area of low pressure between the Cabo Verde Islands and the Lesser Antilles. This low has a decent chance of becoming a tropical system over the next five days as it moves west. If this storm were to make a run at the United States, it is still roughly two weeks away. The models are very uncertain of the path, so it’s still an area we’ll be monitoring closely.
