Crews from three fire rescue agencies fought a house fire in Ormond Beach for almost two hours Friday evening, aiding the homeowners and rescuing one of their two dogs.

Volusia Fire officials said dispatchers received a 911 call regarding the fire at about 6:09 p.m. Units arrived at the house lessn than 10 minutes later and were assisted by units from Flagler County Fire and Ormond Beach Fire.

Firefighters brought the flames under control by about 7:53 p.m., Volusia Fire officials said. In the course of battling the blaze, crews entered the home and rescued one of the homeowners' two dogs that was still inside.

Witnesses told fire officials they heard several explosions coming from the garage area.

The house appeared to be a loss. Firefighters said the roof over the center of the house as well as over the garage collapsed.

No firefighters were injured. Neither of the homeowners was injured; however, one of them was evaluated for a prior medical issue unrelated to the fire.

The Red Cross is now helping the homeowners and their surviving dog.
