Here's the Central Florida weather forecast for Sunday and the workweek ahead:

We didn’t have a whole lot of rain over the weekend, but rain chances will pick up on Monday.

Sunday held plenty of sunshine through the afternoon with hot high temperatures around 90 degrees. The humidity made it feel more like triple digits in spots. With more moisture moving in on Monday, there is a better chance for showers and storms which will keep temperatures slightly lower.

The east and west coast sea breeze collision down the spine of the state will keep a chance for a few storms into early tonight. The majority of the activity will wind down around midnight, and conditions will be quieter as we head toward daybreak on Monday. Temperatures will be mild, falling into the mid 70s. Watch for some patchy fog Monday morning.

An approaching front will help to keep rain chances high for the start of our workweek. Expect increasing clouds throughout the day Monday with temperatures in the mid to upper 80s. Temperatures will remain slightly below average through mid-week with a decent chance for showers and storms sticking around each afternoon. Fall officially begins Thursday.

In the tropics, Julia remains several hundred miles to the east of Jacksonville. This storm has started to slowly move north-northwest. No direct impacts from Julia, but higher waves and a high rip current risk will continue.

Tropical storm Karl is out in the central Atlantic and is moving west toward the Lesser Antilles. In a few days, this storm will encounter some favorable conditions for strengthening and could become a hurricane. Models have this storm turning north before reaching Florida, but it's still something we'll watch closely over the next week.

Another disturbance just off of Africa has a high chance for tropical formation in the next five days.
