The shooting happened about 3:35 a.m. along the 3900 block of Columbia Street.

Orlando Police said shots were fired as people were leaving the pool hall. A total of seven people were struck by gunfire.

Dwayne Antoine Stuart, 37, was pronounced dead at the scene. The other six victims were transported to an area hospital.

Family and friends gathered at the same spot where Stuart was killed just hours after the shooting for a candlelight vigil. Family members said Stuart, who was known as Wayne, had five children — the youngest just 5 years old.

"The best daddy in the world," Stuart's cousin, Nikki Gumbs, said. "He was a wonderful father, wonderful boyfriend, wonderful son, wonderful friend. He's well-loved out here."

The family said Stuart was in his car enjoying time off after work from his construction job when he was shot. They said it was a case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time and they don't believe Stuart was targeted in the shooting.

Two of the six hurt in the shooting were released from the hospital as of 4:27 p.m. Saturday. The other four victims were listed to be in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.

No suspect information has been released.
