The suspicious incident in which a man allegedly took pictures and videos of a 10-year-old girl and other children at a Palm Coast bus stop never actually happened, Flagler County deputies said Thursday.

  • Deputies: Suspicious incident reported at bus stop never happened
  • The incident was reported at a F-section bus stop in Palm Coast
  • Deputies still urge people that if  they "see something, say something"

"Based on our investigation, we now believe the incident ... never occurred," said Jim Troiano, a spokesman with the Flagler County Sheriff's Office, in an email.

The alleged incident happened at a bus stop at the intersection of Forest Hill Drive and Friar Way in Palm Coast.

No criminal charges will be sought in the case, Troiano said.

The initial report came from a 10-year-old girl who said she noticed a silver-colored SUV parked on Folcroft Lane on Friday, Sept. 9, and again on Monday, Sept. 12. The girl told deputies that the SUV followed the girl to the bus stop and then the driver took pictures and video of her and other children while they waited for the bus.

The girl told her parents, who then told the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office.

"Although these incidents did not occur, we do not want to discourage anyone from reporting suspicious activity, as we take all reports seriously," Troiano said.
