Tropical Storm Julia, which formed over land near Jacksonville late Tuesday night, is expected to continue meandering along the coast of Georgia and South Carolina into Friday.
- Tropical Storm Julia formed over northeast Florida late Tuesday
- Julia remains a tropical storm, has slowed down slightly
Maximum sustained winds are still about 40 mph, according to the National Weather Service's 1 p.m. advisory, and it's moving to the east-northeast at 5 mph, meaning the storm has turned and slowed slightly.
Forecasters said Julia is likely to meander near the northern Georgia or southern South Carolina coastlines into Friday, so flooding is a concern. The storm is expected to produce significant rainfall of up to 6 inches along the coast.
