Here's the Central Florida weather forecast for the rest of the workweek:

  • Highs in the upper 80s, near 90 degrees
  • Higher rain chances through Friday
  • Watching Tropical Depression 9 in the Gulf

The moisture flow continues while we keep a watch on Tropical Depression 9.

A few showers will continue to be possible throughout the night while temperatures hold in the mid 70s under a mostly cloudy sky. Wednesday will be stormy at times with scattered showers and storms possible throughout the day. Wind will be increasing from the south, gusting around 20 mph at times.

Tropical Depression 9 is the main player this week in our forecast, providing an increased moisture flow from the south and east around the slowly organizing system. After the storm turns more north and then northeast, it is expected to increase in speed a bit, making landfall somewhere in the panhandle to the Big Bend area of the state by Thursday.

Scattered showers and storms will continue and become a bit heavier by Thursday. We could get several inches of rain this week, so localized flooding is possible, especially along the west coast, as well as north of Orlando. Wind will be increasing with gusts between 20 to 30 mph through Friday. High temperatures will back off into the mid 70s for the rest of the workweek.

Rough conditions continue along the east coast from a combination of Hurricane Gaston, which is east of Bermuda, and our tropical system in the Gulf. Only experienced swimmers and surfers should be in the water and should stay near a lifeguard stand the next few days. The rip current threat will be high into the holiday weekend.
