Former Republican presidential candidate Dr. Ben Carson visited Orlando Saturday as the keynote speaker for the Florida Family Policy Council's 11th Annual Policy Awards Dinner.

  • Carson: Trump and Clinton must stay away from name calling
  • Carson will visit Detroit with Trump next month

Carson, a retired neurosurgeon who has endorsed Donald Trump, answered questions afterward the dinner. Most notably, he said Trump and Clinton need stop throwing around insults like "racist," "bigot," and "loose cannon."

"I would prefer that they stay away from the name calling, because all that does is provides another story for people to talk about when we have these important issues to deal with," said Carson.

Carson says he's also planning to visit Detroit with Trump next month to visit disadvantaged neighborhoods in an effort to reach out to minority voters.
