Tropical Storm Gaston hasn't changed much in the latest advisory from the National Hurricane Center, with winds up to 65 mph.

The storm, in the central Atlantic Ocean, is moving north-northwest at 17 mph and will wobble along between the west and northwest through the weekend before turning very sharply northeast early next week.

Gaston is forecast to become a hurricane sometime Saturday, and potentially a Category 2 storm by Sunday.

Meanwhile, Invest 99 remains very weak.

An Air Force Reserve Hurricane Hunter aircraft was scheduled to fly into Invest 99, near the Turks and Caicos Islands, but because of the weakness of the system, the investigation was canceled for today.

The storm has a 20 percent chance of developing in the next two days and 50 percent chance of developing in the next five days.

We're still monitoring it for any flare-ups, but for now, the system is not an immediate threat to Central Florida.

It does stand a chance of strengthening slightly after it moves over the warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico, but this would not be until Monday or Tuesday.
