Here's the Central Florida weather forecast into the weekend. For a tropical update, see our Weather Experts' latest on Invest 99 and Gaston.

A mix of sun and clouds ended the work week with a few passing showers.  Highs made it to around 90 degrees. The chance for rain will be increasing over the next few days as low pressure to our south sends plenty of moisture toward Central Florida.

Winds will settle down a bit heading into tonight, but continue out of the east-northeast. While most will be dry with partly cloudy skies, a few isolated showers may work their way ashore along the coast. Temperatures will be warm, falling into the mid to upper 70s.

Low pressure moving through the Bahamas will continue on its westward track south of Florida this weekend. More moisture will start to move back in with strong winds out of the east. Scattered showers will be possible Saturday and Sunday, but not a complete washout. Temperatures will stay around 90 degrees. As winds switch to the south on Monday, rain chances will climb even higher for the start of the work week. The added rain will knock high temperatures down into the mid to upper 80s for a good portion of next week.

Invest 99 is the low pressure that will be increasing our rain chances this weekend, but there is now only a medium chance for tropical formation over the next five days. This system has not been able to organize enough to withstand moving into some drier air. A tropical system is not expected this weekend as the low moves south of Florida. Once it gets into the Gulf of Mexico, there is a slightly higher chance for tropical formation and should continue to be monitored. Gaston remains out over the Atlantic and will stay away from the United States.
