Art in August at Disney Springs

Joe Kaminski is a copywriter at Disney's Yellow Shoes Creative Group and has been the signature artist at the company's Festival of the Masters half a dozen times. He is a self-taught painter whose portraits are of some of the most famous subjects in the world. His paintings of Mickey and the gang are unique. This weekend, he's part of Art in August, which all month has brought artists who specialize in the House of the Mouse to the streets of Disney Springs. Joining him will be William Silvers, an Ohio native who painted backgrounds for such features as "Mulan" and "Lilo & Stitch." Guests will be able to speak to the artists about their processes, as well as view and buy original works. Craftspeople and jewelers with handmade wares will also be on hand. Kaminski will be available from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday; William Silvers from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. through Sunday at the east end of Disney Springs, 1490 E. Buena Vista Drive, Lake Buena Vista. The event is free.
