Here's a glance at Central Florida's weather forecast for Monday night and the rest of the workweek:

We will continue to be muggy overnight with temperatures falling into the middle 70s but feeling more like the low 80s Tuesday morning. Little chance for rain overnight under partly cloudy conditions.

Hot again Tuesday with temperatures coming down a few degrees Wednesday.

Southerly wind over the past few days has allowed our high temperatures to climb several degrees above normal as well as push heat indices to around 105 for many.

We will have another day of the heat, then temperatures will be coming down closer to our normal high of 91 for the rest of the week.

The reason? Wind will be shifting from the northeast Tuesday, bringing rain chances up slightly as the east coast sea breeze pushes showers and storms that form to the West each afternoon.

Afternoon temperatures won’t climb quite as high given the shift in wind, more clouds building each afternoon, and the cooling from raindrops if you are lucky.

In the tropics, Tropical Storm Gaston formed near the Cabo Verde Islands in the Atlantic. The storm could become a hurricane in the next few days, but as of right now is not expected to directly impact Florida.

Fiona was downgraded to a tropical depression over the weekend. This storm will continue to weaken as it moves northwest near Bermuda. It's no threat to Florida.

Invest 99 has a chance for tropical development over the next five days as it approaches the Lesser Antilles. This storm is something to watch, but low confidence for now as to whether it will form and where it will go.

Conditions haven’t improved for surfers with only 1 to 2 foot wave heights expected Tuesday. Rip current is low with water temperatures near 78 in Daytona Beach and near 84 in Cocoa Beach.  UV index is still near max, so apply sunscreen often.
