Here's what you need to know about Central Florida area weather heading into the work week:

  • Mostly clear skies through overnight hours
  • Only slight chance of storms Monday
  • Rain chances increase mid-week

Highs temperatures once again Sunday afternoon reached the mid-90s for most. Humidity made much of the day feel more like triple digits.

While not widespread, there were a few showers and storms that developed late in the day. Quiet conditions heading into Monday morning, with low rain chances sticking around for one more day.

Mostly clear skies are in the forecast through the overnight hours. Temperatures will be warm, falling only into the mid-70s.

Monday will continue to hold only a slight chance for a few afternoon showers and storms. Increasing moisture will help to increase rain chances as we head toward mid-week. The extra rain will help to drop temperatures back a bit. Highs will be in the mid-90s Monday, but only around 90 degrees the rest of the week.

In the tropics, Fiona continues to move northwest toward Bermuda. This system will encounter some unfavorable conditions over the next couple of days and may weaken to a remnant low before reaching the island. No threat to Florida. Behind Fiona, we’re continuing to watch Invest 99 and Invest 90. These unorganized cluster of thunderstorms do have the potential for tropical formation over the next five days. These storms are something to watch, but are still a week away from becoming a big concern for us.
