Here's what the Central Florida weather forecast looks like for the weekend:

  • Scattered afternoon storms Saturday, Sunday
  • High temperatures return to the 90s
  • TROPICS: Tracking activity in the Atlantic Basin

It was a hot start to our weekend with temperatures Saturday afternoon in the 90s and triple-digit humidity.  As the east and west coast sea breeze moved inland, a few showers and storms were able to develop but were not too widespread.

Partly cloudy skies are in the forecast to begin tonight, but clouds will clear a bit as we head toward daybreak on Sunday. Temperatures will be warm again, dropping into the mid 70s.

Low rain chances will remain through Monday with hot temperatures in the mid to low 90s. Humidity will make it feel more like triple digits at times. Rain chances pick up a bit next week as high temperatures back off slightly.

In the tropics, Tropical Storm Fiona continues to move west-northwest in the central Atlantic Ocean. Models weaken Fiona this weekend to a remnant low and also turn this storm north near Bermuda. There won't be any impacts for Florida.

We're also watching Invest 99 heading toward the Lesser Antilles that has a medium chance for tropical development in the next five days. There's also a wave about to come off the African coast that has a high potential for tropical formation in the next five days.
