Because of dry conditions and high demand, Brevard County is implementing restrictions on the use of its reclaimed water.

  • Brevard County restricting use of reclaimed water
  • Dry conditions, high demand prompted restrictions

Restrictions are split between county reclaimed water customers residing on the east and west sides of Interstate 95, and they'll have access to the water three days a week for four hours:

  • East side of I-95: Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 4 to 8 a.m.
  • West side of I-95: Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 4 to 8 a.m.

It's possible for reclaimed water to run out before 8 a.m. if demand is very high, utility services said, and reclaimed water won't be made available on Sundays in order to allow the reclamation facility time to recharge its supply.

The county's utility services department is asking customers to adjust their irrigation systems to water lawns for the shortest amount of time needed to maintain a live lawn. Any irrigation system maintenance also must be scheduled during these times, utility services said.

Updates will be announced on the Reuse Hotline at 321-637-5477. Customers with questions can call (321) 633-2093 during regular business hours or visit www.brevardcounty.us/utilityservices.
