During a news conference Friday, Gov. Rick Scott announced a second area of Zika transmission on the U.S. mainland.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention added South Beach to its Zika travel warnings.

Florida health officials said mosquitoes have spread the Zika virus to five people in Miami Beach. Two cases involve Miami-Dade County residents and three involve tourists from New York, Taiwan and Texas, the AP reported.

The other area that had previously been identified as a transmission area was the Wynwood district of Miami.

The CDC also has discouraged pregnant women from conducting nonessential travel to all of Miami-Dade County.
