The girl became frightened on one of the rides at Daytona Lagoon, tried to climb out and fell. Park staff responded and summoned paramedics, according to Jack Falfas, CEO of United Parks, which owns the water park.

The girl, who was hurt at about 4:15 p.m., was not seriously hurt, according to a 911 call.

"Following the incident, the Florida state authorities visited our facility and confirmed that our safety measured were followed appropriately," Falfas said in a statement. "As part of our on-going commitment to safety, we would like our customers to know that we are continually reviewing all incident and safety training measures in an effort to minimize unfortunate accidents like this.”

The injury comes amid several recent injuries or deaths at amusement parks just this month. Among them, according to CNN: The 10-year-old son of a Kansas state lawmaker was killed on a water slide Aug. 7. A day later, a 6-year-old girl fell from a ferris wheel in Tennessee, and Aug. 11, a 3-year-old boy fell from a roller coaster in Pennsylvania.
