A Kissimmee motorcyclist died in a single-vehicle accident Thursday evening in Polk County, officials said.

  • Brandon Gregorich was wearing a helmet, according to deputies
  • No other vehicles appeared to be involved

Brandon Gregorich was driving his silver 2007 660 sport motorcycle at around 10:30 p.m., heading eastbound on Ronald Reagan Parkway near Rosselli Boulevard in Davenport, when for some reason his motorcycle drifted south and hitting a concrete curb, stated the Polk County Sheriff’s Office in a press release.

After it hit the curb, it was traveling on the sidewalk for about 200 feet and then onto the grass for another 50 feet, the statement noted, adding that the motorcycle struck a wooden utility pole and the 23-year-old man was ejected.

Both the motorcycle and Gregorich came to a final rest on the side walk.

He was declared dead at the scene, according to the statement.

While Gregorich was wearing his helmet, officials stated that there is evidence that suggests he was driving faster than the 45-mph speed limit for that road.

“It does not appear at this time that any other vehicles were involved. The roadway in that area was closed for approximately 4 hours during the investigation,” mentioned Carrie Horstman, public information officer with the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.

The investigation is going.
