June 2016 was a very warm one across Central Florida. It was so much warmer than normal that it was the 10th warmest June on record. The monthly average temperatures ranged from 1.4 to 1.8 degrees above normal.

Daytona Beach had a monthly average temperature of 81.5 degrees which was 1.6 degrees above normal. This ties 2009 and 1994 as the 5th warmest June on record. Orlando had a monthly average temperature of 82.8 degrees which was 1.4 degrees above normal. This ties 1944 as the 8th warmest June on record. Melbourne had a monthly average temperature of 81.8 degrees which was 1.4 degrees above normal. This ranks as the 4th warmest June on record.
We also had some record highs set. Daytona Beach set a record warm low on June 25 with a warm low of 78 degrees. The previous record was 76 degrees last set in 2012. In Orlando on June 7 they tied a record warm low of 77 degrees last set in 1903.
On June 16, another record warm low of 77 degrees last set in 2013. On June 17, another record warm low of 77 degrees. Previous record was 76 degrees last set in 2003. For Melbourne on June 11, a record warm low of 78 degrees. The previous record was 77 degrees last set in 2011.
Rainfall was hit or miss in June. Daytona Beach had 3.57 inches of rain for the month, which was 2.26 inches below normal. Orlando had 7.71 inches of rain for the month, which was 0.13 inches above normal. Melbourne had 8.91 inches of rain for the month, which was 2.20 inches above normal.
