Here's the Central Florida weather forecast for Saturday:

  • Spotty evening showers
  • Hot and humid

High temperatures Saturday afternoon made it into the mid to low 90s, but some afternoon showers and storms helped to cool down a few spots. High heat and humidity will stick around for the end of our weekend. Temperatures back in the 90s with a chance for afternoon storms. Slightly lower rain chances on Monday.

A few storms may linger through sunset, then clouds will begin to clear overnight. Expect partly cloudy skies as we head toward daybreak on Sunday, with lows in the mid-70s.

Sunday will be similar to today, with the only difference being a slightly lower possibility for storms. We’ll still start out the day quiet with plenty of sunshine, then start to heat up for the afternoon with storms firing up along the sea breeze. Lower rain chances stick around for Monday before increasing back up by mid-week. No break in sight for the heat and humidity.

In the tropics, there are two areas of low pressure out in the Atlantic that we’re watching. Invest 96 is located southwest of the Cape Verde Islands and is moving west. There is low potential for tropical formation in the next five days. Invest 97 is roughly 500 miles east of the Lesser Antilles. There is medium potential for tropical formation in the next five days, especially once this system gets into the western Caribbean. Both storms are quite a ways away from Central Florida and have a lot of obstacles before getting anywhere near us. Something we will continue to watch, though.
