- Police say the men were seen breaking into Greenwise Motors
- After a police chase, the men were found hiding in the Riviera Key neighborhood
Investigators say the men were spotted throwing a brick into a window at the Greenwise Motors on SR 192. Police arrived and a chase ensued.
The stolen car ran over stop-sticks forcing the suspects to stop on Riviera Boulevard near Palm Bay Road.
That's where one was caught, but the others took off on foot, police said.
After a couple hours on the run, the men were spotted by alert neighbors who called police. The men were seen hiding in trash cans outside a house in the Riviera Key neighborhood.
“When they emerged from the garbage can they tried to break into a house, neighbors gave us a call, and within moments we were able to capture all three suspects,” said Cmdr. Dan Lynch with the Melbourne Police Department.
A woman and her infant were inside the house, but police say they were not injured.
All four suspects are facing a number of charges.
