Titusville City Council honored 9-year-old Stevie McCray and 19-year-old Breanne Moseley for their life saving efforts after they recused a 3-year-old girl from drowning

“They’re amazing kids, and to save a life like that, they’re going to remember that for the rest of their lives and it’s something they can be proud of,” TPD spokesperson, Amy Matthews said.

Surveillance video caught on tape, Stevie pulling the young girl from the community pool at the Timber Trace Apartments, after she had gone under the water for nearly two minutes.

Breanne then saw them out of the corner of her eye and jumped into action, performing CPR on the young girl.

“She was just lifeless and not moving, so I went over there and gave her mouth to mouth until she coughed up all the water and she was able to breathe again,” Breanne said.

Police say without their quick thinking things could have ended very badly. Tuesday, both Stevie and Breanne were honored with the city’s “Life Saving award.”

"These two young people saved this toddler's life, and the second we found out and we were working the scene, we knew they were heroes right away. As soon as we could we wanted to get them up here and get them recognized, and we are just so proud of them as a community they are truly heroes,” Matthews said.

Breanne says she learned CPR at a young age and encourages everyone to learn it, it may just help you save a life one day too.
