An investigation is underway after a shooting at a downtown Orlando club, according to the Orlando Police Department.

  • The shooting happened outside Venue 578
  • Employees say a fight broke out inside the club, then moved outside
  • Colonial Drive at Orange Avenue is blocked off

The shooting happened early Sunday morning at Venue 578 located on North Orange Avenue.

According to employees, 12 women started fighting inside the club. Eventually, the fight moved outside.  That’s when, employees say, they saw a man fire his gun into the air.

Moments later, a second fight reportedly broke out inside the club between a DJ and another man.

About 15 minutes later, witnesses say more shots, about 20, were fired outside the venue in a parking lot.

Officials say between 600 to 700 people were inside the club at the time.
