Today, Marion County Animal Services is participating in National Clear Shelters Day, a nationwide effort to give a pet a loving home, and the county is reducing the adoption fees.
- Adopt various animals at reduced prices
- Reduced adoption fees for dogs extended
“Come find the cat, dog, horse, rabbit, pig or other animal that will be forever grateful to join your family,” the group stated in a press release.
The reduced rates for the following animals are:
- Cats and dogs, $25
- Horses, $75
- Pigs, $12.50
- Pocket pets like rabbits, $2.50
The adoption fees include:
- Spay-neuter surgeries for all dogs and cats
- County license
- Current vaccinations
- Microchips
Marion County Animal Services stated that due to the large number of dogs at its shelter, the reduced adoption fee for dogs will continue after Saturday for a limited time.
