  • Mayor Robert Wolfe bonded out on $2,000
  • State Attorney's Office charged him with insurance fraud
  • Wolfe allegedly filed a $9,000 insurance claim

Mayor Robert Wolfe bonded out Wednesday after turning himself in on charges of fraud.

He was arrested Wednesday and quickly bonded out on $2,000.

The State Attorney's Office is charging him with insurance fraud.

According to the State Attorney's Office, Wolfe filed a $9,000 claim with his insurance company back in February.

The prosecutor said the mayor claimed his home was damaged and he needed to rent a home.

However, the claim was investigated by the Department of Financial Services, which gathered surveillance video and witness statements. According to the department, Wolfe he never left his property.

This isn't the first time the mayor has been in trouble with the law.

He was arrested in May following a fight with his wife. His wife accused him of pushing her and firing a gun.

However, those charges were later dropped.
