Investigators are searching for a killer in a triple homicide, which is the first in the history of Altamonte Springs.

  • Triple murder is a first for Altamonte Springs
  • One of the victims known to law enforcement
  • Police need help figuring out what happened

The victims were killed early Sunday morning at the Remington Inn and Suites off Douglas Avenue.

According to investigators it all happened on the second floor of Building 2. Around 3 p.m. Sunday, a maintenance worker passed by the room and noticed the door was wedged open. When he walked inside, Altamonte Police say he immediately noticed a woman dead in a chair.

Three people were found dead inside. Charles Simms Jr., 39, Germaine D. Deamus, 38, and Lisa Robbins, 49, were all shot to death.

"During our canvass we did come across several individuals who advised us that they heard some kind of an argument and then they described a popping noise around 4 a.m. that morning," said Lt. Robert Pelton with the Altamonte Springs Police.

Investigators believe the three victims knew each other, and said all three currently lived at the Extended Stay Inn.

We spoke with a man who lives at the Remington Inn and knew Charles Simms Jr. He told us he was too afraid to speak on camera because the killer or killers have not been arrested.

This man said Simms was known to have parties and sell drugs.

Investigators confirmed drugs are being considered in their investigation and Simms has been previously arrested by law enforcement.

"Remington Inn and Suites is one of our high call volume areas where drugs are known to be. So that is going to be a factor in this investigation to find out if that played a role in these killings," Lt. Pelton said.

Law enforcement is sifting through evidence and surveillance footage now. However they are asking for the public's help as well. Anyone with more information is asked to contact Crimeline at 1-800-423-TIPS (8477).
