The man who was found dead in the street back in May has been identified, the Deland Police Department stated.

Jesus Alicea Del Valle, 38, was found dead on at the intersection of North Clara and West Michigan avenues at around 5 a.m., Saturday, May 21 of this year.
“A preliminary investigation found the man was likely hit by a vehicle and dragged 50 to 60 feet, but the cause of death is unknown at this time,” police stated in a press release.
Del Valle was a native of Puerto Rico.
"It’s awful. I hope they find whoever did it and that person’s family can get closure,” resident Amy Jones, who lives near the intersection, said at the time.
