One of the three people struck by lightning in Daytona Beach Shores has died, according to the Volusia County Beach Patrol.
Janika Gardner, 33, of Georgia died Friday night, just before midnight.
According to officials Gardner and Russell Scott, also of Georgia, were standing along the beach when they were struck.
Both were taken to the hospital. According to officials, Scott is still in the hospital and doing well.
A 55-year-old woman, Ann Nikorak, of Daytona Beach was also affected by the strike, according to officials. She has been released from the hospital.
