This week, Interstate 95 will be shut down in both directions overnight because of construction.

  • I-95 will shut down in Daytona Beach overnight on June 21 and June 23
  • Construction workers are installing beams
  • Detours have been set up for drivers

Florida Dept. of Transportation said I-95 will be closed in both directions around the Interstate 4 interchange on Tuesday, June 21 from 10 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.

Then, on Thursday, June 23, I-95 will be closed southbound from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Cranes will be staged in the lanes to set beams over the interstate, requiring the shutdown. I-4 will not be affected.

Detours have been set up for drivers during both shutdowns. FDOT says the detours will be clearly marked.

  • Northbound I-95 drivers:
    • Exit at Beville Road (SR 400) and take Williamson Boulevard north to International Speedway Boulevard (US 92). Access to I-95 NB will be open.
  • Southbound I-95 drivers:
    • If you are going towards I-4 westbound, get off at International Speedway Boulevard (US 92) and head west to the I-4 westbound on-ramp.
    • If you are going toward Port Orange and beyond, you will get off at International Speedway Boulevard (US 92) and head east to Williamson Boulevard south. Take that to Beville Road (SR 400). Access to I-95 southbound will be available.

FDOT is asking travelers in these areas to slow down, watch and follow detour signs through the construction zones.
