A beautiful memorial has been placed on Lake Beauty outside of Orlando Regional Medical Center.

Greg Zanis, a carpenter who traveled from Illinois for this effort, erected 49 crosses for victims who died in the Pulse nightclub shooting.

"We just need to honor them," Zanis said.

Orlando isn’t the only place Zanis has built these crosses. He has traveled from his hometown several times, placing nearly 13,000 crosses all across the country. Many of the crosses are in other cities that have experienced gun violence, like Aurora and Newtown.

At the hospital, 19 people are still being treated for their wounds and four are still in critical condition fighting for their lives.
