Sanford Police are searching for the driver who hit and killed a bicyclist early Friday morning.
The incident happened between 3:30 and 4 a.m. along Celery Avenue and Brisson Avenue. Parts of Celery were shut down for several hours during the investigation.
Police identified the man killed as Mark Hampton, 59.
Wendy Hernandez talked to News 13 and said that her 59-year-old significant other was the bicyclist killed. She said he rode his bike to work every day. He was lying on the ground after the collision, and another vehicle drove past him, Hernandez said.
Police said people should be on the lookout for a light-colored Nissan Versa with damage to the passenger-side front headlight and mirror.
