Here's what you need to know about Central Florida's weather for the weekend:

  • Dry stretch in next week
  • Warm and sunny Mother's Day

High pressure sliding into the Gulf of Mexico will provide us several sunny days and a gradual warm-up from Mother’s Day into next week. Lows tonight may near record levels for a couple locations.

A slightly cooler than average airmass for May in Florida will remain in place through tomorrow with highs in the upper 70s to lower 80s. High pressure building across the region will help to keep us dry as well, with no rain chances in the forecast until next Thursday.

Under a clear sky tonight, we’ll drop back into the 50s in most locations, with a few 40s once again dropping down into Marion County.

No issues for Mother’s Day. Mom will enjoy a sunny sky with highs warming back to seasonable levels in the mid to upper 80s.

The ridge of high pressure remains in place through Tuesday, and eventually our flow will come back around it from the south and usher in more moisture. Highs will hang around 90 most of next week, with dew points back in the humid category.

Winds may gust at the beach tomorrow, and with a slight chop, we’ll see the rip current risk bump between low to occasionally moderate. Weak swells won’t help out those of you wanting to surf, with wave heights stuck around ankle to knee high. The ultra violet index will be very high to extreme this weekend. Water temps range from 73 at Daytona Beach to 77 at Cocoa Beach.
