A bicyclist was killed after being hit by a vehicle Thursday in east Orange County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
- Bicyclist was struck while traveling on Belvedere Road
- Troopers said the bicyclist failed to stop at the intersection
- He was taken to the hospital where he died
The crash happened around 9:15 p.m. on Belvedere Road and 6th Street, near Bithlo.
According to an FHP report, Antonio Alvarado, 23, was driving north on 6th Street as the bicyclist was traveling eastbound on Belvedere Road. Troopers said the bicyclist did not stop as Alvarado approached the intersection.
The front of Alvarado’s Nissan hit the bicyclist.
The bicyclist, who has not been identified, was taken to Florida Hospital East, where he died.
The crash remains under investigation.
