Here's what you need to know about Central Florida's weather for the rest of the week:

  • Cold front moving through
  • Clear skies and plenty of sunshine

Gusty wind over 35 mph will come down overnight, but still be a bit breezy with wind between 10 and 15 mph.

Under a starlit sky and dry air, temperatures will fall into the middle to low 50s, with some spots getting below 50 before sunrise Friday.

Although wind will be lower, expect breezy conditions Friday with temperatures only topping near 80 under a mostly sunny sky.

A strong low pressure offshore in the northeast is working together with high pressure over Texas, to bring dry, cool air our way, dropping our temperatures some 10 degrees from a couple of days ago.

Lows will range from the low to middle 50s, while highs will rise to near 80 Friday and Saturday.  By Sunday, temperatures will begin to come back closer to our seasonal norms.

Mother’s Day will still remain mostly sunny as we top out near 87 in the afternoon.  Next chance for rain is not until next Thursday.  Friday will still be a bit breezy however, the wind will continue to calm down into the weekend.

Not very good for surfing Friday since our wind remains from the northwest, pushing the water offshore.  Wave heights will only be near 1 to 2 feet.  Looking good for swimmers since no rain is in the forecast and rip current threat stays low.  UV index is high due to abundant sunshine so be careful not to get burned!
