Two Volusia County teens captured an up close and personal shot of a great white shark off the Ponce Inlet coast.

Taylor Magone and his friend, Wylie Phelan, went fishing for grouper Sunday, but they came across the large marine predator, which they think measured 16 feet long.

The teens say the great white came within inches of their boat — so close, they say, they could touch it.

It also came close enough they could see the shark's razor-sharp teeth.

But the teens were so excited seeing the shark, Taylor actually stuck his hand in the water to record the great white.

"I put my hand in the water and held the camera under water," Taylor said. "It was pretty fun. He was much calmer than I was, obviously. We were just really stoked. It was like a once in a lifetime opportunity."

Both teens say they did not think the shark was menacing — to the point they even considered jumping in and swimming with it.

Fortunately, they did not test the waters.
