Here's what you need to know for Central Florida's weather for Memorial Day weekend:

  • Partly cloudy skies overnight
  • Mostly sunny skies Sunday

It was a hot and humid start to the weekend, but with plenty of sunshine.  Highs were able to make it to around 90 degrees, with the humidity making it feel even hotter. We will be seeing similar conditions for the rest of our holiday weekend.

Partly cloudy skies will continue through the overnight hours with temperatures falling to around 70 degrees. Some areas of fog may develop early Sunday morning and impact your commute.

Sunday will be similar to Saturday with mostly sunny skies to start and then a few more clouds during the afternoon.  There is a slight chance for a few afternoon showers and storms as temperatures climb into the upper 80s to low 90s.  The humidity will continue to make it feel a bit hotter. No major changes expected for Memorial Day. Hot with a chance for a few showers and storms. The main concern is the high rip current risk along the east coast. Swim near a lifeguard stand and have a safe holiday.

In the tropics, low pressure continues its track toward the South Carolina coastline.  Some intensification is possible, but will be short lived as it makes landfall on Sunday.  The track then turns this system to the northeast and stays away from Florida.  Indirect impacts will be the high rip current risk and slightly higher wave heights.  Hurricane season officially begins on June 1st.
