A Kissimmee Police officer was arrested and charged Tuesday with sexual misconduct.

  • Cpl. James Rabb accused of sexual misconduct
  • FDLE says he had sexual encounters on and off duty
  • Rabb is on unpaid administrative leave

Cpl. James Rabb, 32, faces charges of sexual battery and receiving unlawful compensation for official behavior.

Florida Department of Law Enforcement agents began investigating Rabb in February 2016 at the request of the Kissimmee Police Department, according to FDLE.

Agents say that while Rabb was arresting a female suspect, he engaged in sexual misconduct and continued to have sexual encounters both on and off duty. He's also accused of using his position to call the State Attorney on behalf of the victim to ensure she got preferential treatment for her pending criminal case.

“It is extremely important our citizens and those who visit our community have complete trust in law enforcement professionals. The Kissimmee Police Department will take immediate action when an allegation of misconduct is made against any member of this agency, and will remain transparent in our process," Kissimmee Police Chief Lee Massie said.

"These alleged actions do not represent the Kissimmee Police Department’s philosophy, nor should they be a reflection of the men and women who proudly serve our City.”

Rabb was booked into the Osceola County Jail on $25,500 bond and is on unpaid administrative leave.
