Two people are dead following a head-on collision in Mascotte Thursday evening.
The crash is blocking part of County Road 33 near East Cardinal Pines Drive.
Florida Highway Patrol says Lake County deputies were pursuing a female suspect in a white car. The suspect lost control and slammed head-on into a black SUV.
Both drivers died.
Mascotte police deployed stop sticks to stop the white car, but FHP does not know if the car drove over them when they lost control.
The driver of the black SUV was not part of the pursuit.
